NSAA Track & Field State Championships to run 4 days in 2021

The Nebraska School Activities Association released the schedule for the 2021 State Track & Field Championships. The event will  run over a four day period, Wednesday May 19 through Saturday May 22.  The format will be similar to the state wrestling championships with Class A and D running the first two days and Class B and C going the next two days. The State Meet will continue to be held at Omaha Burke Stadium.

Class D will open the meet on Wednesday, May 19 with field events beginning at 9 am CT. Running events will start at 10:30 am CT.   Class A Field events will begin at 3 pm  with running events starting at 4:30 pm.  Thursday May 20, Class D field events will begin at 9 am and running event finals will start at 10:30 am.  Class A field events will then follow at 3 pm and running event finals will start at 4:30 pm.

Class C will begin with field events at 9 am, Friday May 21 with running events at 10:30 am.  Class B will follow with field events at 3 pm and running events starting at 4:30 pm.  Saturday May 22, Class C field events will start at 9 am and running event finals at 10:30 am.  Class B field events will begin Saturday at 3 pm and running event finals at 4:30 pm.

Team Trophy presentions will follow the running event finals.  Last year, all spring sports...track & field, boys golf and girls tennis... were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Spring practice began on March 1, weather permitting, the first contests of the spring season will begin March 20.
