The Alliance Bulldogs are set for their home opener on Tuesday night as they host the Rapid City Christian Comets at 6 p.m. Alliance sits at 5-2 on season while RCC is 2-0. Rapid City Christian had a record of 29-7 last year and according to MaxPreps have not lost a set yet in 2023, going 5-0 in wins over Chadron and Douglas SD.
"They're always strong, always fundamentally sound, they never give you anything," Alliance Head Coach Manda Clarke said. "We really have to minimize those unforced errors and work for every point."
Alliance is coming into the match against the Comets with some confidence after playing well in the Douglas tournament in Wyoming, winning their first five matches before dropping the championship match to Buffalo. They would like to keep it going on their home floor and avenge a 3-0 loss at Rapid City Christian early last season.
