KEARNEY, Neb. -- September 11, 2021 -- The Chadron State College volleyball team drops to 2-5 after the final day of the Rosella Meier UNK Fall Classic on Saturday. The team lost in four sets to the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm, despite improved play across the board.

The Eagles performed best in the second set in which they won 25-23.  They had 14 kills, four errors, and a hitting percentage of .313, which was their second-best hitting percentage of the season after recording a .414 percentage in set one of their match against Minnesota-Crookston last week.

"We came out with a little bit more fire than yesterday gut had trouble defensively," said CSC Head Volleyball Coach Jennifer Stadler. "We need to clean up some things on our side and stay consistent towards the end of the sets."

Leading in kills was Chadron native Allie Ferguson. The sophomore outside hitter tied with Olivia Moten-Schell with nine on the day.

Middle hitter Micaiah Vrbka and setter Audrey Bennett led both teams with five blocks apiece. Bennett also led the Eagles in assists with 16.

For their first Rocky Mountain Athletics Conference match, the Eagles will travel to Alamosa, Colo. next weekend on Friday, September 17 to face Adams State (4-5). The game will start at 7 P.M. MT.
