The Alliance Bulldogs girls' and boys' basketball teams are back in action tonight, as Alliance hosts Gordon-Rushville starting with varsity girls at 5:30, boys at 7. Coverage on KCOW.
In the girl's game, Alliance is 4-7 on the season and hope to end a 3-game losing skid, against a very strong G-R team who is 9-3.
Alliance Head Coach Stephen Crile wants his team to share the ball and play inside out offensively, but also limiting turnovers and containing the Mustangs is key.
"We have to protect the basketball and to set the intensity on the defensive end," Crile said.
On the boy's side, Alliance will look to bounce back from a tough 60-58 loss to Bridgeport, as they are 4-7 while Gordon-Rushville is 0-10.
Bulldogs head coach Dalton Holst says that the Mustangs record can be deceiving, since they do a lot of good things defensively, and knows his team has to be locked in and ready.
"They're a worthy opponent no matter what, Holst said. They're a good team, a well-coached team that has a lot of good players, so we have to take it one possession at a time, one quarter at a time."
