The Chadron State College rodeo team will return to action this weekend at the Gillette Rodeo.

CSC Coach Lane Day said his cowboys and cowgirls are eager to compete again.  He said everyone from the fall semester is healthy and eligible.

The latter item was never a problem.  The 30 or so team members finished the fall semester with a cumulative 3.6 grade point average, Day proudly reported.

There’s also good news on the health issue.  Last fall, Jack Skavdahl of Harrison put off having knee surgery for a torn ACL until after the CSC rodeo in mid-September.  It paid off because he won the saddle bronc riding.

Skavdahl then had the surgery and has been cleared to ride again this weekend.

Day said his team has added two new members.  They are Emma Ackerman of Crawford, a breakaway roper, and Colton Holoubeck, a team roper from Kearney.

              Here’s the spring schedule:

March 15-17—at Gillette; March 22-24—at Eastern Wyoming, Torrington; April 5-7—at Colorado State, Fort Collins; April 12-14—at Casper College; April 19-21—at Univ. of Wyoming.
