North Platte man sustains serious injuries after being struck on motorized bike

NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte man was seriously injured after a vehicle struck the motorized bicycle he was riding.

According to North Platte Police, On September 14, 2020, at 3:25 p.m., officers and the North Platte Fire Department, responded to an injury accident involving a pedestrian near 10th and Jeffers Streets.

Upon arrival, police say officers learned that the pedestrian that was hit had fled the area but they located him nearby.

Police say after the investigation, officers determined that a Red 2015 Ford Sedan, driven by Dawn Mockaitis, was traveling northbound on Jeffers street when Ronald Ware attempted to cross the street, eastbound, on a motorized bicycle.

Mockaitis' vehicle collided with Ware in the intersection.

Ware was transported to Great Plains Health with serious injuries, his current condition is unknown.

No charges were reported.
