In what appeared to be a pitchers duel at first, turned into an all out heavyweight battle as the Alliance Bulldogs softball team fell one run short in a 10-9 loss to Chadron on Tuesday night. Hannah Schneider was brilliant through out the game, striking out five Cardinal batters over six innings.
It was Alliance who struck first in the top of the 3rd, with a two-run homerun off of the bat of Senior Ciara Hudson to give the Bulldogs a two run lead.
Chadron responded with seven run 3rd inning, and they were able to hold off an Alliance comeback to earn the victory at Hampton Field.
The loss drops Alliance to 3-3 overall and the Cardinals improved to 3-3.
