LINCOLN, Neb. (AP)-One worker was killed and another was injured when concrete fell on them Friday at a construction site, Lincoln police said.
The men were part of a crew disassembling a concrete balcony at the Cedars in south Lincoln. The balcony was about 10 to 12 feet off the ground when part of it broke off and hit the men, Capt. Todd Kocian said.
A man in his 20s died at the scene. The other worker was taken to the hospital with a leg injury that wasn't considered life-threatening, The Lincoln Journal-Star reported.
No names have been released.
Cedars is undergoing a $3.5 million expansion of its emergency youth shelter.
