Alliance for Change organization is holding a LGBTQ pride event in Central Park on June 27.
The pride event is for all ages and starts at 2 p.m. and will last until around 5 p.m.
"We want to celebrate the wonderful contributions that LGBTQ+ people make to our community, state, country, and world both past and present," said Alliance for Change. "Therefore, bring all your pride gear, especially flags that can be displayed, and other memorabilia and celebrate who you are!"
"While this event is dedicated to our Box Butte County LGBTQ+ community, we will welcome others from outside of our county with open arms," Alliance for Change added. "Because this is our first event, we are currently asking attendees to bring chips, dips, and other snack foods that can be easily cleaned up to provide to others. Alliance for Change will provide drinks and cups."
Alliance for Change recommends wearing masks and social distancing.
They said if you are apart of the "vulnerable population," as defined by the Center for Disease Control, you may wish to stay home, as Covid-19 is still a cause for concern for the general public (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/index.html).
