Alliance - The United Way of Western Nebraska serving Box Butte & Dawes Counties is excited to announce that grant applications are currently being accepted from 501(c) 3 non-profit organizations serving Box Butte County or Dawes County for 2020-2021 funding.

Applications are available on-line at www.unitedwayofwesternnebraska.com/apply.

United Way works in the local community to assist non-profits that promote healthier lives, better education, income stability, provide for and contribute primarily to human care and health needs, operating and serving individuals in the health, welfare, recreation, youth-guidance and/or character building field.

Funds for the United Way of Western Nebraska serving Box Butte and Dawes Counties grants were all raised in the local community during the annual United Way fundraising campaign and through United Way special events. Each agency that applies and meets the funding criteria will be interviewed by a group of United Way volunteers that determine funding levels for each agency. Dawes County interviews for funding will be held on Friday, April 17 in Chadron and Box Butte County interviews will be held on Thursday April 24 in Alliance. The amount of funding available is based on the final amount raised in each county at the end of the United Way campaign. The money raised in Box Butte County is given to Box Butte County agencies and Dawes County funds are given to Dawes County non-profits that apply for and are granted United Way funding.

Interested agencies may contact Karen Benzel, United Way Box Butte & Dawes Counties Director at [email protected] or by calling (308) 763-8031 for more information.

All completed applications must be submitted to the online portal on United Way of Western Nebraska’s website by 4:00 pm on Monday, March 2, 2020 for consideration.
