South Dakota reports 4 COVID-19 deaths, 61 new cases

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota has recorded four more deaths from COVID-19, along with 61 new cases.

The Department of Health reported deaths in Brown, Pennington, Minnehaha and Union counties.

One person in their 40s, one person in their 60s and two people over 80 died.

The state has tallied 73 deaths from COVID-19.

The tally of cases during the pandemic rose to 5,665, but 82% of those have recovered.

The economic fallout from the pandemic has showed signs of letting up, but 817 people filed still filed claims for unemployment for the first time during the week ending June 6.
