North Platte SRs 7, Alliance 1

North Platte built a 3-0 lead in the second inning and held Alliance to six hits in a 7-1 win Monday.

The Spartans defense committed four errors, leading to a pair of unearned runs.  Kirk Sanders and Jakob Callan each pitched four innings for Alliance combining to give up 10 hits but walk just four.

Collins Schrawyer had two hits but Alliance was not able to drive in any runs with the bats, leaving seven men on base.

The Spartans drop to 11-8.

Gering JRs 20, Wheatland, WY 5

Gering had the game won before Wheatland had a chance to bat taking a 10-0 lead into the bottom of the first inning.  Gering led 17-1 after two innings and the game was called after the fourth.

The hitting stars were everywhere for Gering: Dalton Wiese went 4/5 with four RBIs.  Chris Bliss drove in four runs. Tristan Strauch was 3/3 with three runs scored and Keegan Shifflet drove in two runs and had two hits.

Ryan Johnston pitched all four innings and allowed seven hits.  Only one of Wheatland's five runs was earned.

Gering is 5-5 this summer.

Gering SRs 15, Buckley (Chappell) 7

An eight-run bottom of the sixth won it for Gering 15-7, busting open a tie game.  Five walks, three Chappell errors and three singles led the outpouring of offense in the final frame.

The teams combined for eleven errors in the game, six for the Bombers and five on Gering's side.

Riley Gaudreault went 2/4 with four RBIs for Gering.  Jarrod Beamon drove in a pair of runs.

Corbin Murphy had three RBIs for Chappell including a pair of doubles.

Gering improves to 7-6.
