It might sound cliché but the phrase "It's not how you start, it's how you finish," is truly a term that some Alliance Volleyball players and coaches have in their minds after a difficult 3-0 loss to Gering on Thursday night. The scores were 27-25, 25-17 and 27-17.

"I thought we came out very strong," Head Coach Manda Clarke Said. "The girls were not playing scared, they were playing very aggressive with some things definitely going in our favor."

Alliance seemed in control of the first set leading by as many as five points if not more, but Gering went on a long run in the middle that force Alliance in a difficult situation. They showed their grit late in the first and had a set point but could not put away Gering.

It's the first game of the season, we're going to take the good things that we did, bring those forward and bounce back."

Alliance is in Wyoming this weekend searching for their first win of the season at the Douglas Invite before hosting their first home match on Tuesday against Rapid City Christian.
