OMAHA — The Nebraska State Patrol has added additional charges against a suspect in a pursuit that occurred Wednesday evening, April 15, in Omaha.
NSP has received information that the suspect provided a false identity throughout the process of apprehension, treatment for minor injuries at the hospital, and booking at the Douglas County Jail. The suspect’s actual identity is Jeremy Binns, 43, of Iowa.
Binns had provided false information, identifying himself as Devlin Phillips, 42, of Omaha, due to a physical resemblance between he and Phillips. Devlin Phillips is not involved in this case.
At the direction of the Douglas County Attorney’s Office, troopers have added charges of criminal impersonation, obstruction, and providing false information. Binns also faces charges of willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, possession of methamphetamine, driving during revocation, and no valid registration in connection with Wednesday night’s pursuit and arrest. Binns also has a warrant for his arrest out of Iowa.
Binns remains lodged in Douglas County Corrections.
