Hemingford girls' basketball have had a difficult season so far in 2023-2024, but on Thursday night they got ever so close to their first win, building a first half lead over Garden County. However, Garden County rallied in the second half using a big 3rd quarter to edge the Bobcats 32-31.
Hemingford had a great first half, using a great defensive start to lead 12-5. The 2nd quarter was competitive, but Hemingford still held the 9-7 edge in points in the quarter to take the 21-12 halftime lead.
The Eagles stiffened on defense in the 3rd to outscore Hemingford 10-2 before a close 4th quarter where Garden County held the 10-8 points edge.
Hemingford falls to 0-9 while Garden County goes to 2-7.
