⚾| Alliance wins another wild one with 16 runs Wednesday; Legion recaps & scores

Alliance JRs 16, Sheridan County 12

The bats got going early for both teams in the first inning with Alliance taking an 8-4 lead after one frame.  Alliance got singles from the first five hitters to step up and a couple of doubles helped bring runs home in the first. Sheridan County clawed back to within 10-8 in the fourth, but Alliance added five runs to go up 15-8 the next inning and stay in front for good.

Leading the Alliance offense was Kellon Muhr who had a perfect 3/3 night with two RBIs and three runs scored.  Mario Garcia had three hits.  Five Spartans drove in two runs.

Sheridan County's Jace Freeseman paced the Regulator offense with three hits including a triple and Harley Bayne tabbed three RBIs.

The Regulators record slips to 6-5. Alliance is now 8-4.

Sidney JRs 6, Gering 5

The Sidney Juniors clipped Gering 6-5 withstanding a Gering comeback in the final inning.  Trailing 6-3 in the seventh Gering drew a walk, got to within 6-4 on an RBI triple, which was followed by an RBI double that made it 6-5.  With traffic still on the bases Sidney wriggled off the hook on a grounder to end it.

Sidney's Micah Schneider was excellent on the mound with five innings of no-hit ball, but gave up two earned runs and walked five.  Gering was able to scratch three runs off Sawyer Dickman before Ben Hashman came on to finish the final two outs.

Keagan Shifflet went the distance for Gering allowing ten hits in seven innings.  The defense behind him had some struggles, giving up six errors.  Fortunately, only one unearned run scored to keep Gering in the game.

Jacob Dowse led Sidney with two RBIs and Schneider had a 3/3 night at the dish with a run scored.

Gering's Ryan Johnston led the offense with a pair of RBIs.

Gering drops to 2-5 this summer.
