Iowa mother, son arrested for actions at US Capitol

On Friday, February 19, 2021, Deborah Sandoval of Des Moines, IA, and Salvador Sandoval Jr. of Ankeny, IA, were arrested on federal warrants by special agents from the FBI Omaha Field Office’s Des Moines Resident Agency. The mother and son face charges stemming from the events at the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021.

The federal charges against Deborah Sandoval include:

  1. Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority
  1. Knowingly Impeding or Disrupting the Orderly Conduct of Government
  1. Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct on Capitol Grounds

The federal charges against Salvador Sandoval Jr. include:

  1. Obstructing, Impeding or Interfering with Law Enforcement
  1. Knowingly Entering or Remaining in any Restricted Building or Grounds Without Lawful Authority
  1. Violent Entry and Disorderly Conduct on Capitol Grounds
