The Chadron State College football team was voted third, out of 10 teams, by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference head coaches in the 2021 RMAC Preseason Football Coaches' Poll, released Wednesday at rmacsports.org.

CSC received 62 out of 81 possible points from the league's ten head coaches, who ranked their opposition 1-9 without voting for their own squad.

The Eagles were slotted behind only Colorado School of Mines, with 76 points and seven first-place votes, and CSU Pueblo, with 70 points and two first-place votes. Behind them, in order, were Colorado Mesa, Western Colorado, South Dakota School of Mines, Adams State, New Mexico Highlands, Black HIlls State, and Fort Lewis. Adams State received the 10th and final first-place vote.

In addition to the poll, the RMAC released footage of the conference's Virtual Media Day at rmacnetwork.com. CSC Head Football Coach Jay Long, together with senior quarterback Dalton Holst and senior linebacker Travis Wilson, fielded questions from RMAC Director of Media Relations Zack Chavez, as well as invited media members, on a video conference call.

The Eagles will begin the 2021 season at Western Colorado on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. They open Elliott Field at Don Beebe Stadium on Sept. 11, in a 1 p.m. kickoff against Angelo State University of Texas, which was picked as the runner-up in the preseason Lone Star Conference poll.
