The Box Butte County Bad Boys 11U baseball team kicked off their 2022 campaign in Douglas, Wyoming on April 30, and May 1.

The Bad Boys opened pool play with an 8-3 victory over the Wheatland Cutters. Teagen O’Gorman took the mound throwing a complete game. O’Gorman gave up 1 hit while striking out 7. Carson Bunnell knocked in 2 runs with a double leading the team in runs batted in. Israel Garcia led the Bad Boy hitters going 2 for 2 on the day. The Bad Boy bats were silent in the nightcap as they fell to WYCO, 6-1. The Bad Boys only managed two hits in the game, with singles by Fletcher Moseman and Xander Narjes. Miguel Galvan started on the mound for the Bad Boys, pitching 3 innings and striking out 5 WYCO batters. Fletcher Moseman finished the game for the Bad Boys on the mound.

The Bad Boys’ bats would wake up Sunday morning as they put on a hitting clinic against the Casper Crush in the semi-final game of the tournament. The Bad Boys had 10 hits in route to a 12-0 victory over the Crush. Teagen O’Gorman lead the way going 3 for 3 at the plate. Jace Jensen and Israel Garcia also had multiple hits in the game. O’Gorman and Jensen each had in the park home runs in the game. The story of the game, however, was the pitching performance by Miguel Galvan. Galvan dominated the Casper hitters throwing a complete game no hitter. Galvan was one error away from a perfect game. Galvan struck out 7 Crush hitters while walking none.

The Bad Boys met the Westco Revolution in the championship game on Sunday afternoon. The Bad Boys dropped a heart breaker losing 8-7 in walk off fashion. The Bad Boys out hit Westco 12 to 5 but just fell short. Israel Garcia, Teagen O’Gorman and Casyn Nelson all pitched for the Bad Boys. Cisco Cody had an RBI triple in the game. Dixon Bair, Carson Bunnell and Jace Jensen led the way with 2 hits each.

The Bad Boys were back in action over Mother’s Day weekend at the Flatrock Tournament in North Platte.

The Bad Boys opened the tournament with a 4-3 loss to the Sterling Tigers. That would be the only loss the Bad Boys would have on the weekend. The Bad Boys hitters could not be stopped notching 22 hits in a 16-5 win over Gering, 12 hits in a 14-1 victory over McCook, and 16 hits in a 16-1 win over the Central Nebraska Baseball Academy. Due to overnight rains the tournament could not be finished, and the Bad Boys were awarded third place with a 3-1 record.

The Bad Boys will be back in action at Sudman Field in Alliance when they host their first annual tournament on May 21 and 22. Games will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21.
