2019 Alliance High School Graduate, Mason Hiemstra, picked up two nice honors this past week. Saturday, Hiemstra was honored as a 12 Varsity Letter winner at Alliance High School. During his Bulldog career, Mason lettered his freshman year in Cross Country, Basketball and Track & Field. As a sophomore, junior and senior, he lettered in Football, Basketball and Track & Field. Just the 7th student athlete in AHS history to win 12 letters. Mason was awarded a plaque that will be displayed in the front of the Alliance High Auditorium.
Mason is currently a sophomore at Hastings College, and a member of the Bronco basketball team. On March 3, Mason was named to the Second Team of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men's Basketball All Conference Team. This past season Mason averaged 15.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Both stats are amoung the Conference leaders. The Broncos finished this season with a 6-19 record.
Mason is the son of Angie and Randy Hiemstra of Alliance.
