The 15th annual Nebraska-Wyoming Six-Man Football Shootout will be played at Elliott Field at Chadron State College starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 29. There are 18 players on each roster.

Five of the Nebraska players are from the Panhandle. They are Baxter Reece of Sioux County High at Harrison, Alec Watchorn of Leyton and three members of Garden County High’s state championship team. They are Wilsie Lobner, Kyan Kramer and Lane Brenneman.

The Nebraskans also include three members of Stuart’s 2024 state championship team, Owen Littau, Kayde Ramm and Drew Schmaderer.

The Wyoming roster includes six players from Little Snake River High at Baggs. The Rattlers were 11-0 last fall while winning their fifth state title in the last seven years. They defeated Burlington 67-17 in the championship game.

One of the Little Snake River players on this year’s shootout roster is Granit Ready, who rushed 16 times for 237 yards and three touchdowns besides intercepting three passes, one of which he returned for a touchdown in the season finale.

The head coaches of both of the undefeated, state championship teams will serve in that capacity for the all-star game. They are Chad Dormann of Garden County High and Jack Cobb of Little Snake River High.

Nebraska won last year’s all-star game 68-28 after Wyoming had led 22-14 midway in the second quarter. Quarterback Dylan Young of Hay Springs was among the Nebraska leaders. He scored three touchdowns and threw a pair of TD passes.
