⚾|Sunday's Legion Baseball Game Wraps

Alliance SRs 7, Buckley (Chappell) 5

Alliance took the championship game of Sunday's Clair Conley Tournament and finished 4-0 in the event. 

Trailing 3-0 in the third inning, Alliance exploded for five runs and never looked back.  Following a single sandwiched by a pair of walks the Spartans started tallying runs with an RBI groundout, two-run single from Trevor DuBray and two-run double by Vic Hinojosa.  The Spartans added two more in the fifth and held off Buckley's sixth inning, two-out rally despite giving up a two-run homer.

Collin Schrawyer pitched five innings for the victory, giving up four hits and three runs.  DuBray finished off the win with two innings of work and four strikeouts.

Chadron SRs 10, Bridgeport 2

The Nationals opened up strong and kept the foot on the gas throughout in a win over Bridgeport at the Alliance Clair Conley Tournament.

Trevor Berry started off his terrific day at the plate by driving in the first run of the game in the first inning as Chadron went on to take a 2-0 lead.  After Bridgeport tied it up, the Nationals added three more in the third, three more in the fourth and nailed it down with two runs in the fifth.

Berry finished 3/4 with five RBIs.  Curt Bruhn drove in two runs and Xander Provance had a pair of RBIs with a triple.

Shane Frye pitched all five innings for Chadron on the mound, allowing seven hits and striking out five.

Alliance JRs 10, Sidney 2

Sheridan County JRs 11, Valentine 5

The Regulators opened up a doubleheader sweep with four players knocking in two runs.  Jace Freeseman, Keenan Schwarting, Tyler Johnson and Curtis Rittgarn all delivered multiple RBIs. 

Freeseman pitched into the fifth inning and struck out six while allowing three hits.  Johnson K'd five in his 1.2 innings with Schwarting finishing it off using two strikeouts as part of the final frame.

Sheridan County JRs 16, Valentine 12

A wild second game went just four innings and saw 28 runs cross the plate.  After one Sheridan County claimed a 5-4 advantage, then extended it to 12-4 heading into the third.  Up 16-4 going to the bottom of the third Valentine made a big push back with four runs in the third and fourth innings but couldn't rally all the way back.

Sheridan County's Curtis Rittgard was 3/3 and scored twice. Tyler Johson led with three RBIs. Cade Goings and Trey Thorson each drove in a pair.

Bronson Freeseman pitched part of the first inning and issued five walks before being relieved by Logan Darringer who threw 2 2/3 with five K's. Traiton Starr closed out the final inning.  The trio combined to allow just four Valentine hits.
