NORTH PLATTE — After word spread around social media over the weekend about a student threatening to bring a gun to school, police and school officials have taken action.
According to a message sent to parents of North Platte Public Schools students said police and school administration was aware of the threat.
The student reportedly threatened to bring a gun to school because he was being bullied.
The statement from the school said police made contact with the student's family, and he will not be attending school today.
Extra police presence is expected at Adams today. Officials said this is a precautionary measure to keep students and staff safe.
