The Hemingford girls and boys basketball teams opened up the season against Gordon Rushville Friday night, and the Bobcats girls lost 62-24.
Hemingford boys had a picture-perfect start as they won over G-R 45-26.
It was a tough start for the Bobcats girls as the Mustangs came out of the gates fast surging to a 23-5 lead after the first quarter.
The 2nd quarter was the best scoring output for the Bobcats as they scored ten points but were outscored by 11 21-10 for a 43-17 halftime score.
Both teams are in action against Hyannis on Saturday.
