Chadron State Junior defensive star Xavier Harrell will be in the mix for RMAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. He's a versatile football-seeking missile that finished second on the team in tackles last fall while playing several positions.
While his primary spot is linebacker, "X" will also line up as a standing rush defensive end, and was slotted into safety when injuries hit the unit hard last season. He's got the speed, athleticism and football IQ to handle all three spots successfully. But would Defensive Coordinator Clint Sasse try him out at say, nose tackle or CB1?
Spring practice is a little more fun and motivating when you look forward to a great match-up to start the fall season. For Chadron State and Harrell knowing the UNK Lopers are coming to our house to begin the 2024 campaign sends the excitement level even higher.
