Owner: Fire at Omaha funeral home spares bodies, remains

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The owner of a an Omaha funeral home says a fire that broke out at the business over the weekend did not disturb the remains of people being stored inside.

The Omaha World-Herald reports that the fire at Good Shepherd Funeral Home was reported just after midnight Saturday and was under control within an hour.

Owner Michael Hoy says the blaze displaced three people living in an apartment above the business, but did not disturb two bodies or any cremated remains being held within the funeral home.

Hoy says the fire was contained mostly to the business' office area.

No injuries were reported.
