The Alliance Bulldogs Volleyball team has been searching all season for that signature victory, and they got in on Tuesday night in a 3-1 win over an elite team in Gering. (25-22, 15-25, 25-16, 25-20)
"I knew the girls would finally put everything together, it was a just matter of when," Alliance Head Coach Manda Clarke said. I feel the timing was perfect, we've had glimpses of sets where we did things really well; but we talked about how for us to get this victory it would take all of us putting it all together at the same time, and that's what happened."
The win for Alliance snapped a four-match losing streak to Gering this season, as Alliance had lost all nine sets against Gering this season coming into Tuesday, including losses on Friday and Saturday in the Twin City Invitational.
The win for Alliance was complete team effort, but Senior Jaelynne Clarke showed why she is one of the top players in Nebraska as she had over 20 kills and double-digit digs. Gering was led by freshman Jacey Cochran and Jaxie John who had 17 and 16 kills respectfully. Gering's record falls to 15-15 while Alliance improves to 12-12 with the Western Conference Tournament coming up this weekend.
