OMAHA-United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that on November 13, 2020, United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced Victor Roman-Degante to 70 months in federal prison. There is no parole in the federal system. Roman-Degante will serve a 2-year term of supervised release following his release from the Bureau of Prisons. Roman-Degante will be deported from the United States to Mexico after serving his prison term.

Roman-Degante, 29, was convicted of distribution of methamphetamine. On February 4, 2020, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) conducted an enforcement operation during which they contacted a known Mexico-based methamphetamine supplier to request a pound of methamphetamine. The Mexican source of supply then coordinated the delivery of methamphetamine by Roman-Degante to an undercover officer in Omaha. The methamphetamine was tested for weight and purity, yielding a gross total weight of 421 grams at 95% purity.

The case was primarily investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Omaha Police Department.
