Chadron State College student Erica Morgan, a sophomore from Gibbon, Nebraska, died Friday in an automobile accident on Highway 2 near her hometown. She was 19.

Morgan was a physical science major and participated in student activities at CSC. She was President of the Natural Sciences Club, and involved with the Plainswalkers and Social Science Club.

“This is truly a sad day for Erica’s family and friends and Chadron State College,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Student Services Jon Hansen. “Erica was a vibrant member of the CSC community and she will certainly be missed. Speaking on behalf of everyone at the college, our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones.”
