Four Cardinals collected hits in Chadron's season opener but the Cards didn't make enough contact at the plate on the road Friday. Sophomore Josie Downing was 1/3 and drove in Chadron's run.  SV/A struck out 12 Chadron hitters.

Cardinals starter, senior Ella O'Brien, pitched 5.2 innings and rolled up six strikeouts.  She allowed six hits and four runs, three earned. Freshman Maci Rutledge saw her first varsity action in the circle and allowed four runs and walked four.

📌|Scottsbluff 18, Lexington 7

After Lexington opened the game with a 1-0 lead, Scottsbluff pushed nine runs across in the second inning to start the rout.  The Minutemaids trailed 9-1 but added three to make it a 9-4 game, and crept to within 10-7 after three. Scottsbluff put up another huge inning with eight runs in the fourth to blow it open again and win big, 18-7.

Regan Churchill led the Bearcat bats with a 3/4 day and three RBIs. Madison Johnson had a pair of hits and three RBIs, while Taryn Spady notched two hits and drove in two runs.

Kymber Shallenberger and Avery Fox each pitched two innings and combined to hold Lexington to just three hits.

📌|Gering 12, Adams Central 5 (at NP)

A grand slam put Adams Central up 4-0 in the first inning, but Gering would answer in the second to tie the game 4-4.  Maddie Walker and Brylee Dean contributed RBI hits in the early comeback.  Gering would take a 9-5 lead into the fourth inning and tack on three more for the 12-5 win.  Dean ended the day with three RBIs and Walker finished with a pair.  Madeline Wiese earned the win on the mound and struck out four Patriots.
