RECAP: Bulldogs softball dominant in sweep over Hershey

Alliance softball got a confidence building sweep at Hershey on Thursday in a 18-13 slugfest, then a 13-0 shutout in game two. 

Game one

CeCe Hudson had a huge game, hitting home runs in the 4th and 6th innings for Alliance.

The Bulldogs had 22 hits overall and the game was close early as Alliance tied it up at 5-5 in the 3rd with a single by Diane Dubray. Alliance took control in the 4th inning by scoring five runs on four hits to claim a 10-5 advantage. 

Alliance continued to pour it on, Kennadie Gibson laced a double to score a run, Kaiya Hudson singled and Hudson added the homer as well.

Ellie Smith had three strong innings in the circle for Alliance in the latter innings while Hallie Schneider claimed the win for the Bulldogs.

In the win, Alliance stole nine bases, including three from Hannah Schneider.

Game two

Alliance scored eight runs in the 1st inning to help the Bulldogs blank Hershey 13-0. A Diane DuBray three run homer helped Alliance pull away. Cali Acosta, Alivia Osborn, Paige Jensen, Jayla Grant and CeCe Hudson all scored or drove in runs early to lead the effort. 

Hannah Scheider was almost perfect in the circle, striking out six and allowing one hit in four innings in a scoreless effort.

Alliance improves to 6-5 overall on the season, they have a TBD opponent listed for Saturday and will face Western Conference rival Scottsbluff on Tuesday.

The app gamechanger has the Bulldogs playing a game on Saturday, but the opponent is TBD. Alliance will have a home game against Scottsbluff on Tuesday.
