Chadron State introduced its new men's basketball head coach Wednesday afternoon at the Chicoine Center. Chris Francis is jumping up to the NCAA Division II level and bringing along his winning pedigree and exciting style of play from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (NAIA).
From my conversation with the new Eagles basketball leader I learned what kind of style the Eagles will show on the court and that there should be plenty of "showtime" to keep the arena buzzing on game night.
Now that he's officially on the job Francis has to move quickly to get this year's roster put together. Superstars Josh Robinson and Bryce Latimer played out their eligibility last season and other role players have transferred out, but Coach Francis likes the returning core group and outlines ambitious plans to fill jerseys for this year's team.
Following his media conference and with assistance from the CSC women's program and players, Coach Francis hosted a kids basketball camp with over 50 kids taking part.
