AHS Competes at Western Conference Softball Tournament

Scottsbluff hosted the Western Conference Softball Tournament Saturday, with the four Conference Teams, Alliance, Chadron, Gering and Scottsbluff competing.  

The Teams competed in a round robin style event with each team playing 3 games.  The opening round saw Scottsbluff defeat Alliance 16-4  and Gering defeated Chadron  18-2.   Round 2...Gering defeated  Alliance 14- 3 and Chadron defeated Scottsbluff 15-13.   Round 3, Gering over Scottsbluff  9-0  and Alliance over Chadron 4-1.   

Gering was the Conference Champion with a 3-0 record.  Alliance, Scottsbluff and Chadron all finished 1-2.  The least runs allowed determined 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.  Scottsbluff allowed 28 runs to finish in second place.  Alliance allowed 31 runs to place 3rd.  Chadron allowed 35 runs to finish 4th. 

After all the games were finished,  The All Tournament Team was selected.  Champion Gering landed 5 selections...Sarah Wiese, Gabby Moreno, Danae Savala,  Avah Escamilla and Liz Wiese.  Runner up Scottsbluff had 3 selections...Zoey Paez, Tatum Heimerman and Marley Laucomer.  Alliance and Chadron each had 2 selections.   Ciera Hudson and Hannah Schneider for the AHS Bulldogs  and Kinley Richardson and Sarah Lebere for the Chadron Cardinals.
