Nebraska man dead after head-on Kansas crash

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan.— One person died in an accident just before 2a.m. Thursday in Jackson County. 

 The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Ford Fiesta driven by Mohammad Mohsin S. Alnosif, 24, Omaha, was northbound on U.S. 75.

The Ford traveled left of center into the southbound lane and struck a 2021 Kenworth semi driven by William H. Barfield, Kileen, TX., head-on.

Alnosif was ejected approximately 20 yards out of the vehicle into the east ditch and pronounced dead at the scene. 

EMS transported Barfield and a passenger Randy J. Solomon, 66, Albuquerque, NM., to the Jackson Co. Hospital. 

Alnosif was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
