On May 2, 2025, it was brought to my attention that Hemingford School Bond Election voters residing in Dawes County were issued ballots that failed to include the initials of an election official at the bottom of the ballot. This issue is limited only to Dawes County residents.
The Dawes County Clerk’s office will be mailing corrected ballots today to each affected voter. Return postage for these ballots has been paid.
Upon receipt of the reissued ballot, I encourage you to verify that initials of an election official are present on the bottom of your ballot prior to submitting your vote. Ballots that do not contain the initials of an election official will not be counted.
Your ballot must be returned no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 13, 2025. Ballots can be returned by mail, drop box, or in person to the Dawes County Clerk, 451 Main St, Chadron, NE 69337. If you have any questions, please call the Dawes County Clerk at 308-432-0100.
