The Kansas man accused of causing the traffic death of Alliance resident Blythe Boness appeared in Box Butte County District Court Wednesday afternoon.

36-year-old Ryan McElroy entered a plea of not guilty to felony charges of Manslaughter and Motor Vehicle Homicide as well as misdemeanor counts of Third Offense Drunk Driving and Willful Reckless Driving.

McElroy remains incarcerated in the Box Butte County Jail on 10% of a $100,000 bond.

His next court appearance is set for June 29 at 1:30 pm.

The vehicle McElroy was driving collided head on with Boness on April 10 a few miles east of Alliance on Highway 2.

Boness died at the scene while McElroy was flown to the Scottsbluff hospital for treatment.
