Crawford, NE— Today, reminds people of Crawford that The American Veterans Traveling Tribute's (AVTT) Traveling Vietnam Wall and Cost of Freedom Tribute will be on display for the public at 1005 1st Street, Crawford, NE, 69339 from September 9th – September 12th, 2026 all day.
"Remembering and respecting our Veterans for the selfless sacrifices they have made is one of our greatest responsibilities as citizens of this state and nation," said Crawford Serving Humanities president, Roger Campbell. "We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom. The American Veterans Traveling Tribute offers Nebraska, alongside Nebraska Veterans, the chance to pay their respects to our nation's fallen warriors and gain a deeper appreciation for all those who have answered the call to service.” Abbie Gale the AFT Event Coordinator stated, “We are excited to be part of this experience and make this event one to remember!"
The American Veterans Traveling Tribute The confirmed location is 1005 1st Street, Crawford, NE , 69339. With various sizes available, the 80% Replica Wall will be utilized. Standing 8ft tall, this tribute is 360ft long. It also includes the Cost of Freedom Tribute which honors all of our other major wars and conflicts such as: WWI, WWII, Korea, Desert Storm, Somalia, 9/11, Iraq and Afghanistan. The Tribute Wall travels across the country showcasing the names and acknowledging their sacrifices but also educating our youth so that history may never die! Crawford Serving Humanities is looking for Volunteers, Donations, and Participation from the community. Remember that AVTT focuses on “bringing the community together to honor all who serve.”
September 9: A day dedicated to honoring Vietnam veterans and all veterans of American conflicts. There will be displays and special programs to recognize their service.
September 10: This day features a special service honoring Gold Star Families including a wreath presentation. Women of service will also be recognized with receptions and presentations.
September 11: A commemoration of 9/11 will take place with participation from the American Legion, VFW, EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement and all first responders. The day includes a wreath laying at the 9/11 wall plaque and a flag retirement service.
September 12: The event will honor and remember POWs and MIAs with presentations and a table “Set for One” service. Activities include a 5K warrior run, family games and recreation and a music concert featuring the international award-winning, all-female quartet, Gone With The West.
September 13: The tribute will conclude with a community church service held at the wall followed by the closing ceremony and dismantling of the wall.
Food and Patriotic item vendors will be available, as well as all local restaurants.
Each day will feature a variety of groups raising the flag and patriotic music.
