A summer tradition returns to Bridgeport as the 2024 season of the Bridgeport Farmers Market begins this week at the Prairie Winds Community Center parking lot.

Bridgeport Farmers Market President Susan Griffiths tells Panhandle Post, "We have a variety of local crafts, home-baked goods, jams and jellies, and fresh produce that's more-or-less locally-grown." Griffiths notes that additional items will include Palisades, CO peaches, home crafts and woodwork.

Griffiths says that becoming a Farmers Market vendor is easy: "We have an annual dues or they can sell per market day. They need to contact myself or Ed Harms before they can begin selling.

"We're open every Wednesday from 3:00pm to dark, weather permitting. We will be open now through the last Wednesday in September."

When asked what part of supervising the Bridgeport Farmers Market is most rewarding, Griffiths replied, "I enjoy working with the other vendors and learning from them, and also I enjoy helping customers get fresh local produce."
