Lisa Sue Bright (1957 - 2025)

Lisa Sue Bright, age 68, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, July 20, 2025. She was born in Alliance, Nebraska, on July 10, 1957 to Darrel and Betty (Dye) Leistritz,

Lisa spent her early years working on the ranch with her parents and siblings and enjoyed her summers in the hay field. She attended grade school in Antioch, Nebraska and then graduated from Alliance High School in 1975.

Lisa and Allen met their last year of high school. After some persistent flirting and persuasion, Lisa agreed to go out on a date with him. In the fall, two years later, October 15, 1977, they were married in Alliance, Nebraska.

During this time, she obtained her Associate's degree in Executive Secretarial from Wayne State College. Lisa and Allen started their married lives with a small place in Alliance.She obtained a job in a law office and later worked for DHHS. In 1978, Lisa and Allen moved to Antioch, Nebraska, built a house, and made a home. They ran the ranch together with Lisa'sbrother and his family as well as Lisa's father.

In 1989, Lisa and Allen started a new adventure and built a feedlot at Antioch. In 1997, Lisa and Allen were blessed with an addition to their family: Abigail (Hadley) Elder. Upon Abigail's arrival, Lisa resigned from DHHS and became a professional homemaker. She also took over all of the bookkeeping for the feedlot.

Lisa and Allen went on many adventures together whether that was business or personal. The feedlot turned into a machine shop that then married a greenhouse business of which she was an integral cog of each.

Lisa enjoyed crafting and scrapbooking. She was an amazing cook and an even more amazing gardener. Lisa loved making things and sharing them with those around her; this wassomething she made sure to instill in her daughter as they spent hours and hours crafting things to share with those they love. Lisa will forever be remembered as a loving wife and mother.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Lisa is survived by her husband Allen Bright, her daughter Abigail (Hadley) Elder of Alliance, Nebraska: siblings: Jerry (Sherrie) Leistritz of Alliance, Nebraska and Jana Leistritz of Alliance, Nebraska; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel.  Mr. Bill Bright will officiate.  Inurnment will be in the Alliance Cemetery.

Memorials in Lisa’s name may be given to the Box Butte County 4-H Council, 415 Black Hills Ave., Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.
