Alliance woman has pretrial hearing for Attempted Murder

An Alliance woman who allegedly stabbed an intimate partner in July of 2023 and faces attempted murder charges and had her pretrial hearing on Wednesday.  29-year-old Becca Ashing was in court where court documents from Box Butte County District Court indicate that the State of Nebraska filed a Motion in Limine and a Motion to Endorse Witnesses.

Box Butte County District Clerk Kevin Horn explains to Panhandle Post that Limine means testimony not allowed by the Judge and endorse witnesses is basically adding people to an already established witness list. 

The court decided that the motions will be heard on Monday March 18th.

Ashing faces one count of Attempted First Degree Murder, a Class II Felony. Other charges include Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, a Class IIA Felony, and Domestic Assault in the 2nd degree, a Class IIA Felony in the stabbing of Cody Daul on July 13. 2023.

Her trial is slated for April 15th – 17th.
