John L. Montgomery, 67, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at his home in Alliance.
He was born May 2, 1955 in Chadron, Nebraska to John H. and Wiladell (Hite) Montgomery.
On July 12, 1980 he was united in marriage to Alice Adamson.
John was working at KL Wood Construction at the time of his death. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a former active member of the Optimist Club for many years. He was a family man and enjoyed helping people in the community.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, his children, April (Marty) Dean, Travis (Samantha) Montgomery all of Alliance, Joshua (Desiree) Montgomery of Morrill, Chad (Danielle) Montgomery of Gering and Jessica (Jesse) Allen of North Platte. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Caden, Haeliegh, Zeke Dean, Alexander, Zachary, Matthew and Allison Montgomery, Sklyer, Chloe, Noah, Estella and Ryan Montgomery, Brinlee Montgomery and Ein, Eli and Elaina Allen, one great-grandchild, Oaklein Dean and one expected great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers, David and Larry of Scottsbluff and his sister, Kathy Cox of Copperas Cove, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mike and Randy, sisters-in-law, Loretta, Charlene, and Diane, brothers-in-law Michael, Alan, and Jack, nieces, Anna and Christina and a nephew, Lee.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Tim Stoner officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A wake service will be Sunday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at Bates-Gould Funeral Home and continue at the wake service.
