Luke Wesley Haskell, beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend, left this world on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the age of 43 with his family by his side. He was born May 8, 1981, in Alliance, Nebraska, to loving parents Jerry F. and Cindy N. Haskell.

Luke leaves behind a legacy filled with laughter, love, and dedication. To know Luke, was to know laughter. He had the gift of turning the most serious of moments into lighthearted affairs, effortlessly weaving humor into every conversation. His infectious laugh could brighten even the gloomiest of days, and his wit was sharp. Being around Luke meant embracing the lighter side of life, no matter what challenges lay ahead. Whether telling stories or cracking jokes, Luke had the remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel at ease.

Growing up, Luke learned the value of dedication and perseverance early on while participating in baseball, wrestling, track and football. Those formative years were also undoubtedly shaped by his time spent herding cattle and baling hay with his lifelong friends at the Lee Ranch, instilling in him a work ethic that never faded. It was also at this time in the summer of 1997, Luke met and fell in love with his best friend and high school sweetheart, Erica Hemmer. After graduating from Alliance High School in 1999, Luke embarked on the greatest adventure of his life when he and Erica married in August of 2002. Together, they shared twenty-three years of marriage and were blessed with four wonderful children. Luke joined BNSF railroad as a machinist in 2004, working hard to provide for his growing family. As the years passed, he and Erica enjoyed sharing his hobbies of hunting, fishing, and camping with their children. Luke took immense pride in Carter, Henry, Makenna, and Cooper, each of whom embody a distinct part of his spirit—from his boundless energy and charisma to his honest and gentle heart. He will forever live on as they carry forward his wit, kindness, humor, and unwavering love.

Luke will also be deeply remembered by his brothers and their families: Chad (Angel), Charlie (Mandy), and Tye (Carrie); his father-in-law, Bill Hemmer; sister-in-law, Lisa (Brad) Carlson; brother-in-law Jeremy Hemmer; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles who will always carry his memory in their hearts.

The family would like to kindly invite anyone who knew Luke to join in honoring his memory by sharing a fun story or memory of him during a celebration of life. A toast will also be given in remembrance of the lasting impact he had on all who knew him. The service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2025, at The Eagles Club in Alliance, Nebraska, where Luke was a dedicated member for over twenty years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent in care of the family at, 1016 Missouri Avenue, Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.
