Grand Island, Neb. — The Nebraska State Patrol will host a media event Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Nebraska State Fair to detail safety for the 2026 Fair. NSP will be joined by partner law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.
The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 28, located just outside the entrance to the carnival area.
Troopers will also help kick off the Fair with the annual trip down the giant slide in the carnival. Troopers will be joined for the slide by a class of elementary students visiting the fair. The slide will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday.
Media are welcome to cover both events. Footage will be provided after the events for media unable to attend.
