Alliance, NE – Thanks to the Trees for Nebraska Towns Initiative, an effort of PlantNebraska (formerly the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum) and the Nebraska Forest Service, the City of Alliance received 10 free trees for planting this Fall.
Most Nebraska community forests have lost far more trees than have been planted in recent decades. In an effort to stop this decline and increase community forest resilience, The Trees for Nebraska Towns program grants high-quality trees for Fall planting in community locations.
City of Alliance Park Staff and volunteers planted the free trees on September 15th.
PlantNebraska’s Trees for Nebraska Towns Initiative is funded by the Nebraska Environmental Trust and the USDA Forest Service.
