Holdrege, Neb. - The (1-0) Alliance Bulldogs will travel 270 miles east to take on the (1-0) Holdrege Dusters tonight for week 2 of high school football. Pregame coverage is set to begin at 4:30pm with kickoff set for 5:00pm. Listen to the contest on KCOW radio.

A young Alliance team pulled off an impressive 28-15 victory over Gordon-Rushville last Friday finishing the game with 315 rushing yards and 118 yards through the air. The defense would force one interception and the special team's unit forced a fumble on the opening kickoff to start the second half and would turn that fumble into points on the scoreboard.

Bulldog sophomore Trini Trejo would finish the contest with 225 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Trejo is ranked 6th in the state of Nebraska in rushing yards. Junior quarterback Jett Herian would throw for 118 yards, one touchdown with junior wide receiver Espn Lanik had six grabs for 77 yards and one touchdown.

The Bulldog defense was led by freshman free safety Caysen Robertson who finished with a team high 12 tackles. Junior linebacker Montes would finish with six tackles, one sack and used his speed to put pressure on the Mustangs quarterback all game. Herian would have an interception in the second half. Alliance is looking to start 2-0 for the first time since 2011 after earning victories over Chadron 14-7 and Gordon-Rushville 31-12.

The Holdrege Dusters earned a 35-27 victory over Lexington (Class B) to kick off the season. The Minutemen fourth quarter comeback attempt just fell short after scoring 13 points while the defense didn't allow the Dusters to score.

Holdrege, who finished off last season 0-9 returns three offensive starters and five defensive starters. However, many players in this year's starting lineup saw plenty of playing time last season. Offensively, Holdrege runs a shotgun split back formation that relies heavily on the passing attack but will throw in the run game as well. Defensively, the Dusters runs a 4-4.

Dusters senior quarterback Landon Hartzog threw for 223 yards, one touchdown last week. The top target was Josh Janssen who had six catches for 108 yards and one touchdown. Senior Keegan Steinke rushed for 102 yards and finished with three touchdowns.

Leading the defense was sophomore nose tackles Chance Bailey who had a team high six tackles and two tackles for loss. Steinke finished the game with five tackles and sophomore Josh Moon was credited with four tackles.
