Many area fire departments respond to grass fire near Angora

Many area fire departments responded to a grass fire near Angora on Aug. 17. 

17 area departments helped contain the fire in Morrill County including the Alliance and Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Departments. 

According to the Bayard Fire Department there were 80 volunteers and 45 apparatus. There was also assistance by aerial resources. 

"Early estimate on the size of the fire is around 6,000 acres," Bayard Fire Department said. "The fire has been contained and the scene has been turned back to the landowners. A huge thank you to all of the agencies and private individuals who showed up to help."
