Doris Marie (Schaefer) Flohr (1931 - 2024)

  Doris Marie (Schaefer) Flohr died January 24, 2024 at home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 92.

Doris was born June 20th, 1931 to Helen (Harms) and Fred Schaefer in Valentine NE. At a young age the family moved to Scottsbluff, NE. The family operated the West End Grocery Store until it closed. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1949.

Doris married Wesley Flohr on September 27, 1952. To this union 5 children were born, Cheryl (Rodney) Schaneman of Melbeta, Susan Flohr of Minatare, Lance Flohr of Minatare, Mark (Karen) Flohr of Adel, IA, and Tim (Roberta) Flohr of Morrill.

Doris worked at Woolworths ice cream fountain, RJ Knox Insurance, Tom’s Sanitary Supply, Pielstick’s, and the Scotts Bluff County Assessor’s Office. She was a member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church, BPO Does, and the Garden Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; parents-in-law Henry and Katrina Flohr; grandson David Flohr; brother Leo; brothers-and sisters-in law Charles Riedel, Henry and Lydia Flohr, Mary and Harold Kimbro, Alec and Pauline Flohr, Rosia and Leo Shandera, Elmer Flohr, and Edward and Helen Flohr. She is survived by all her children; grandchildren Katryna Schaneman, Warnar (Ginger) Schaneman, Allen Schaneman, Lance W. Flohr, Brad Flohr, Jeff Flohr, Justin Westall, Heather (Shane) Trompke, Brian (Charon) Schultz and Sara Schultz; great grandchildren Jameson and Juliann Westall, Tuff Trompke, Tara, Tori and Johnny Schultz; sisters Anne Riedel and Kathy (Phil) Quinnett; sister-in-law Rosemary Schaefer; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM, Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Father Rayappa Konka as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Monday, January 29, 2024 with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm at the Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff.
