Wanda Gail Schaper passed away Friday, April 8, 2022 at Highland Park Care Center at the age of 78.
She was born November 7, 1943 in Alliance, NE to Jessie and Jennie Ruth (Long) Jines.
On July 21, 1963 she was married to Dwain Schulze in Alliance, NE and together they had 3 children, Carrie (Dave) Marcoe, Jackie (Mark) Carley and Dwain (Alex) Schulze, Jr.
Wanda worked at Neuswanger’s, Husky and Box Butte General Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, playing games, putting puzzles together and doing word search. She spent a lot of her life volunteering and being an active member of the Alliance Eagles Auxiliary No. 136 and the American Legion Auxiliary in Hemingford. She enjoyed entertaining people with holding card parties and family gatherings. She loved playing Bingo and square dancing, where she met Les Schaper.
On July 28, 1990 she married Lester Schaper and they lived in Hemingford where they joined families. She gained three more daughters, Kim Warner, Kirstie Backes and Tammy Shepherd.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Les, her brother, Don Jines from California, her children, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents, her first husband, Dwain, 4 brothers, 5 sisters and one grandson preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Alliance Eagles Club. Rev. Tim Stadem will officiate and burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 11 from 1-7 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.
Memorials may be sent to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #136, P.O. Box N, Alliance, NE 69301 where they will be given to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
