CHADRON – The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon will be presented Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. in Memorial Hall's Auditorium. Reservations should be made at csc.edu/theatre. Admission is free.
Theatre Instructor Paul McKinley is directing the production. He said two narrators attempt to recreate all 209 of the fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm in a wild, fast-paced extravaganza.
“To make it more difficult, they attempt to combine them into one gigantic fable using Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and other more obscure stories like Lean Lisa and Faithful Johannes. It is a recipe for an extravagant production that ends in comic chaos,” he said.
McKinley said it has been a tremendously rewarding process to be the artistic director.
“We had a great turnout for auditions. Our cast has a range of experience in the theatre, and it's been encouraging to see so many students participate who haven't acted before and students who haven't acted at CSC before,” McKinley said.
