ALLIANCE, Neb. - The unofficial results for the 2026 Nebraska statewide primary election have been announced for Dawes County this morning.
With 1,802 total ballots cast, Dawes County saw 1,306 listed under the republican party, 360 under the democratic party, 9 under the libertarian party and 127 as nonpartisan.
Justin R. Madsen defeated Vic Rivera in the race for republican county commissioner for district 2. Madsen earned 202 votes while Rivera took 142.
More votes were received against the tax increase for 1/2 percent sales tax and use tax, as 156 votes in Dawes County were against the increase. 104 votes were for the tax increase.
Pete Ricketts received 982 of the 1,306 total votes for the republican U.S. Senator nomination in Dawes County. Jim Pillen earned 852 of the 1,306 total votes for the republican governor nomination from the local voters.
On the democrat side of the ballot, Cindy Burbank ran away as the winner in Dawes County, earning 330 of the 373 votes. Lynne Walz took 341 of the 373 votes for the democratic governor nomination from Dawes County voters.
